 The Faces of Womad 2007 -  400 performers from 21 countries provided a mix of music and dancing that entertained well over 42.000 people on the 6 stages of Pukekura Park including the magical Bowl of Brooklands Amphitheatre, Womad will now become an annual event due to the demand of tickets which were sold out well before the event - New Plymouth, Taranaki has  become the spiritual home of Womad NZ.

  Powhiri - Official welcome for Womad performers held at Owae Marae, Waitara, Taranaki.     Manukorihi Pa is set above the town of Waitara and displays a distinguished carved Maori meeting house, Te Ikaroa-a-Maui, completed in 1936. The meeting house is a memorial to Maori leader Sir Maui Pomare.
